Did you know?
- Meningitis can turn from cold symptoms to death in just one day.
- Twenty million Americans are currently infected with HPV, and certain HPV strains can cause cervical, vaginal, anal, and penile cancers and genital warts.
- Cost is not a barrier to vaccination. Children ages 18 and younger who don't have insurance or whose insurance doesn't cover vaccines are eligible to receive free shots from participating Vaccines for Children providers or the county health department.
- Vaccines are safe and effective. Protect yourself and those you love!
Protecting adolescent health is such a priority that the Immunization Program invited kids and teens (ages 11 to 18) to create a 30-second public service announcement (:30 PSA) about why HPV or meningitis vaccinations are important to teens. Teens and tweens throughout Florida responded with great creativity—from dance to drama, and humor to seriousness.
